Safety Measures

Truefitt & Hill COVID-19 Safety Procedures

After many weeks of lockdown, we are delighted to announce that, following the UK governments guidelines, our shop at 71 St. James’s Street, London has opened for business again on Saturday, the 4th of July 2020.

The health and safety of our patrons and staff has always been a priority for us at Truefitt & Hill. This is, more than ever, of paramount concern during these challenging times. We have implemented stringent measures and will be adhering to prevailing COVID-19 guidelines in line with the UK government’s recommendations.

OPENING HOURS

We are thrilled to welcome you back to our flagship store. In order to accommodate the numerous appointment requests we are receiving, we have extended our opening hours from 08:30 until 19:00 with the last appointment offered at 18:15. We have allocated 15 minutes between each appointment, so as to allow each client sufficient time to leave the store safely and to allow us time to thoroughly sanitise each barber station after each service. As a consequence, please note that appointments will be taken every 45 minutes.

APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

Appointments can be booked via our website https://www.truefittandhill.co.uk/collections/barbershop or by telephoning us on 020 7493 2961.

We kindly ask all our patrons to arrive on time as our waiting area will not be in use, however we hope to provide limited seating outside the shop, weather permitting. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate any clients who arrive 10 or more minutes late for their appointment.

SAFETY FIRST

Upon arrival all patrons will be asked to sanitise their hands with antiviral gel, which will also be available throughout the store for use as required. The use of face masks is recommended inside the shop to protect our clients and our staff.

If you feel unwell, or live with anyone who is unwell, for everyone’s safety, we ask you to please follow the UK government’s advice and stay at home. Please let us know well in advance of your booking if you have to cancel your appointment and we will happily assist in rescheduling it.

HYGIENE

Our barbers are wearing visors, disposable gloves, masks and disposable aprons to ensure appropriate safety measures are followed at our shop and will continue to wash and sanitise their hands prior and following every service. All barbering equipment, such as scissors, combs and clippers, will be fully sanitised with the relevant disinfecting products after each use, a practice we have had in place for many years. For the foreseeable future, our barbers will only be using biodegradable, disposable towels and gowns.

CLEANING

Antiviral cleaning solutions will be used continually and frequently throughout the day, including after each appointment so as to disinfect cutting stations, barber chairs and other high touch surface areas. Our retail shop will operate as usual, however, there is a strict ‘no touch’ policy on display items except for the designated samples which have been set aside and which will be sanitised after each viewing.

We encourage all patron to make use of contactless payments where possible and all card machines pads will be sanitised after every use.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

There are social distancing signs placed throughout the store and we kindly ask you to maintain a two-metre distance wherever possible. We are limiting the number of customers in the retail area by introducing a one-in-one-out system.

Safety screens have been positioned between barber stations and glass screens have been installed in the reception area to ensure the safety of our clients and our staff.

To further maximise the safety of all who visit and work at Truefitt & Hill, we have limited the number of barbers working on the shop floor at any one time. Until social distancing measures are revised, only four barbers will be working on a shop floor at any given time.

SERVICES

We have temporarily removed our traditional Hot Towel Wet Shaves, Beard Trims, Facials and Manicures from our offering until the government gives further guidelines related to these types of services. We will be communicating the dates on which these services resume again as soon as guidelines are provided to us.

Should you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us directly by emailing us info@truefittandhill.co.uk .

We would like to thank you all for your continued support. We very much look forward to welcoming you through our doors once again and to happier times ahead!
